Stuart P.M. Mackintosh, Executive Director
Stuart P.M. Mackintosh is the Executive Director of the Group of Thirty, an international financial think tank comprised senior figures from central banking, the financial sector, and academia. His research focus centers on macroeconomic and systemic risks, global governance issues, and the international political economy.
Dr. Mackintosh has served as President of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), the largest professional organization of economists in the United States. He is an elected member of the Conference of Business Economists, and is a Certified Business Economist.
Dr. Mackintosh has a B.A. and Ph.D. from Newcastle University and a M.Sc. from the University of Edinburgh. In 2018 Dr. Mackintosh was appointed a non-resident Visiting Fellow at Newcastle University.
In 2020 Routledge will publish the second edition his book The Redesign of the Global Financial Architecture: State Authority, New Risks and Dynamics. Another book is in the process of gestation, and will be published in 2021. Dr. Mackintosh has written widely, and he speaks often to diverse audiences explaining complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
When out of the office, Dr. Mackintosh can most often be found on his road or mountain bike.

Desiree Maruca, Associate Director
Desiree is the Associate Director at the Group of Thirty. In this position, she assists the Executive Director with all aspects of program development, event planning, and fundraising.
Ms. Maruca earned her Master of Arts in International Relations with a concentration in Global Business and Transatlantic Trade from The School of International Service at The American University in Washington, DC. She also holds a BA in International Studies from American University, studying abroad in Brussels, Belgium and concentrating her work on the European Union.
Most recently Ms. Maruca was working at AU Abroad as the Financial Coordinator and Incoming International Student Advisor, managing financial affairs, event planning, and program coordination with institutions around the globe. She previously had experience working with The European Institute in Washington and TechAmerica Europe in Brussels.

Emma Prall, Operations and Program Manager
Emma Prall is the Operations and Program Manager at the Group of Thirty. She assists in coordinating logistics for the Group’s plenary sessions, seminars, and working group meetings. She also manages the publication process and the general administration of the G30 office.
Ms. Prall received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a concentration in Global Inequality and Development from American University in Washington, DC. She focused her major in sub-Saharan Africa and spent a semester studying abroad in Nairobi, Kenya, during which she also worked as a Research Intern at The Dignitas Project. Prior to graduation, Ms. Prall completed internships at Chemonics International and Advancing Girls’ Education in Africa and worked as a peer tutor.
